Rhinosaur – a different point of view

Share this:

Rhinosaur is an interesting project that involves a sort of role play – ordinary people must look into a riffle scope, placed in different points of the city, through which they can see a Rhino, just as a hunter sees it before they kill him. This Art Project, presented as an installation, took place in Cape Town in order to spotlight a serious environmental issue that most people didn’t seem to understand or to observe. Rhinos are currently close to extinction and with this art project the authors hoped to make the public aware of the dangers that this amazing species encounters.

We think this is an Awesome way to make people understand a sensitive issue and the difference between their perspective upon life, and that of the hunter’s or of the people who benefit from these things. Sometimes, Art can be powerful enough to change mentalities with a simple idea.
